Edwards Hired As New Women's Golf Assistant

DENTON – The UNT women's golf team has a new full-time assistant coach, as head coach Michael Akers announced the hiring of Emma Edwards to replace former assistant Lindsey McCurdy, who was hired prior to the 2020-21 season and left to further pursue professional golf before this season began. The team played the fall season with recent graduate Lauren Cox serving as a part-time assistant coach and Akers' brother, Scott, filling a role as a volunteer assistant. Cox will now serve in that role while continuing to pursue a professional career after earning partial status on the LGPA Symetra Tour in the fall.
