[Golf] Viking Golf Programs Name Seven to NAIA Scholar-Athlete Teams

Kansas City, Mo. – The NAIA has announced that 180 men's golf student-athletes and 156 women's golf student-athletes have been named to the 2018 Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete Team including seven Grand View student-athletes. Sachin Gupta (JR/Grimes, Iowa), Tyson Smith (JR/Eldora, Iowa), Braxton Risetter (SR/Jewell, Iowa), David Willem (SO/Urbandale, Iowa), and Devon Woody (SR/Reasonor, Iowa) earned NAIA scholar-athlete honors for the men's team along with Oliva Erpleding and Alexis Owen (JR/Adel, IA)s earning the honor on the women's side. In order to be nominated by an institution's head coach or sports information director, a student-athlete must maintain a minimum grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale, must appear on the eligibility certificate for the sport and have attended two full years as a non-transfer or one full year as a transfer. To learn more about the Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete award, click here. 2018 Daktronics-NAIA Men's Golf Scholar-Athletes – PDF2018 Daktronics-NAIA Women's Golf Scholar-Athletes – PDF
