KANSAS CITY, Kan. – One day after finishing tied for second at the Virginia McCoy Fall Invite, the Friends University Men's Golf Falcons have surged to 22nd and are the top-ranked KCAC team in the latest NAIA Men's Golfstat rankings. "This was another positive showing for our team with three of our players finishing in the top 10," said Dustin Galyon, Friends University Director of Golf and men's golf head coach. "I was pleased with our performance on two incredibly challenging courses. Finishing second with Trent Sutherland having to withdraw was very solid."The Falcons shot 301-296-597 as a team, with Park University rallying to tie the Falcons for the runner-up spot at 310-287-597. Missouri Valley College won the event with a two-round total of 298-297-595.Gerardo Alemany (74-71-145) again sparked the Falcons with a fourth-place individual result.Also placing inside the top 10 for the Falcons was Trinton Nobles (T-sixth, 73-75-148) and Louis Louchet (T-10th, 76-73-149).Sander Fjell wound up 30th overall for the Falcons with a score of 78-77-155.  Competing as individuals for the Falcons were Braulio Graino (T-32nd, 82-75-157), Harrison Middleton (T-32nd, 81-76-157), and Brandon Hillman (T-49th, 88-79-167)."This caps a significant fall season for us being nationally ranked 30th in the NAIA and being ranked 22nd in Golfstat," said Galyon. "We are excited to get healthy, rested and focused for the spring."
