[Women's Golf] Lytle and Sanders get top-10 finishes at CCAC Championships

Amara Lytle finished fifth and Maitlyn Sanders was seventh to lead St. Ambrose to a third-place showing at the CCAC Championships. This comes on the heels of a runner-up finish last year, marking the best two CCAC showings for the Bees since joining the league in 2015.SAU was in a fight for a second-straight runner-up finish but couldn't quite track down Saint Xavier in the two-day championships played at Ravisloe Country Club in Homewood, Ill.Lytle show back-to-back rounds of 81 to end with a 162 and a top-five finish. Sanders also shot an 81 Thursday before coming back with an 83 Friday for a 164 total, good for seventh.Katherine Speer nearly climbed into a top-10 finish of her own. Her second-day 83 gave her a 174 total and pulled her into a tie for 13th.Sam Cramer shot rounds of 89 for a 178 to finish 16th. Kara Williams shot a 196.St. Ambrose finished with a 678 (342-336) to take third in the tournament that featured players from 10 different teams. Olivet Nazarene won the conference crown with a 639 (337-331) and Saint Xavier took second with a 668 (337-331). ONU's Kiana Kruhulik was the medalist with a 153.The Bees will close the 2021-22 season at the Viking Classic Apr. 30-May 1 at Highland Springs in Rock Island, Ill.
