Beyer leads Maverick squad on Day 1 of NCAA Regional

ROHNERT PARK, Calif.— Sophomore Cole Beyer made six birdies and shot an even par round of 72 in his regional championship debut round to lead the Colorado Mesa University Maverick men's golf team to a team score of 296, just eight shots over par, and a middle of the pack position after the first of three rounds at the NCAA Division II West/South Central Regional, played on Thursday here at Foxtail Golf Club.
