Cards Shoot Lower Round But Fall in Standings

CHOUDRANT, La. – It goes without saying that the sport of golf can be cruel to all who step on the course. Lamar University saw firsthand that cruelty Monday morning in the second round of the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate, where they fired a lower round than Sunday only to fall in the standings. The Cardinals finished the day with an even par round of 288 – a two stroke improvement from the opening round – only to fall two places on the team leaderboard (T9th).
