CSUSM Competes in Cal State Northrdige Bill Cullum Invite

The Cal State San Marcos men's golf team is back in action on Monday after almost a month off, competing in Cal State Northridge's Bill Cullum Invitational in Valencia, California.

 FIELD OF DIVISION I TEAMS 

The Cougars will be the lone non-NCAA Division I team in the field of 12 teams.
CSUSM has never played on The Oaks Club at Valencia golf course.
This is CSUSM's fifth appearance in the Bill Cullum Invite and first in over 10 years.
The Cougars' best finish was second out of 12 teams in 2005 with then-fellow NAIA opponent Holy Names taking the team title honors.
In their most recent appearance, the Cougars placed 13th out of 15 teams in 2010 and were the only NAIA team in the field.

COUGAR OUTLOOK

CSUSM has four returners from the 2019-20 team.
With the 2020-21 and 2021-22 newcomers combined, four will be wearing Cougar Blue for the first time this year.
Prior to shutting down their 2019-20 season due to the pandemic, the Cougars placed third at the Coyote Classic and was paced by Justin Vrzich's first-place tie.
CSUSM placed in the top five in five of the six tournaments they competed in 2019-20.
In the Bushnell/Golfweek Division II Coaches' Poll released on Oct. 8, the Cougars received 48 votes with No. 25 Delta State collecting 54 votes.
