Garrett Wood Leads Four Starters in Top 20 at Island Resort

ESCANABA, Mich. – Four of the Kentucky men's golf team's starters concluded the opening 36 holes among the top 20 on the individual leaderboard as the Wildcats rounded out the day at the Island Resort Intercollegiate in sixth with a 13-over par score.
 
Redshirt senior Garrett Wood finished the day in a tie for 17th to lead the way for the starters following rounds of 71 and 75. Wood was powered by a 3-under back nine during the first round to get to 1-under.
 
Sophomore Hugo Archer, playing as an individual, enjoyed a breakthrough performance with a career-low opening round of 68 to get his day started. He is tied for second overall following an under-par 71 during the second round. He is 5-under for the tournament and trails the leader by just one shot.
