[Golf] Borders named MSC Champion of Character

Georgetown College men's and women's golf are in round two of the Mid-South Conference tournament. After day one, everyone came together to celebrate the season with a banquet of awards. All-conference honors will be awarded after the three-day tournament and is based on scores throughout the fall and spring seasons at designated league events.However, several key awards were handed out, including MSC Champions of Character. For the first time in program history a female golfer earned this honor. Senior Mary Catherine Borders was recognized for her competitive edge balanced with five core values and academic endeavors.This award is voted on by the league athletic directors based on information provided from the coach and athlete in regards to community service, fulfillment of the NAIA values – servant leadership, respect, responsibility, sportsmanship and integrity – as well as academic success.
