[Golf] Lester finishes ninth, Leighty leads the women

Georgetown College men's golf team dropped one spot in the final team standings as St. Catharine College caught and passed them Tuesday in Campbellsville, Ky. The Tigers finished seventh in their first tournament in more than a month, but sophomore Kaleb Lester took ninth overall."Of course this is not where we thought we'd be after round one, but we played well on a tough course," said GC coach Austin Sparks. "Hopefully what we learned here has prepared us for what we will face at a more familiar course this weekend in Pikeville."GC will be back on the links Saturday in the Bears' spring tournament.Lester shot a two-day total of 151, a stroke back from eighth and eight off the leader. He was tied for 12th going into the day and finished in a five-way tie for ninth.
