[Golf] Men's and Women's Golf Face First Competition at Wolf Pack Invite

Milwaukee, Wisconsin – The Grand View University men's and women's golf teams completed their participation in the Stritch Wolfpack Invitational earlier today. The two-day tournament featured competition from the entire Midwest area.All-American senior, Mitch Pfingsten (SR/Fairmont, Minnesota), led the defending national champions with a +2 over par and secured him a 2nd place finish. The Fairmont product started his final round in 4th but handled the pressure in crunch time to slide up the leaderboard.  As a team, the Vikings finished 7th of nine squads. Meet host, Cardinal Stritch University, won the men's side, while Heart of America members Mount Mercy University and Culver-Stockton College finished tied for 4th. Full results can be seen below.         The women's team was led by top-10 finishes from both Maria Mantilla (SR/Bogota, Colombia) and Kim Anak Nelson (JR/Miri, Sarawak). They finished 4th and tied for 7th respectively. Mantilla improved on her first round score in order to position herself into the top-5, while Nelson shot the second lowest score in the first round. As a team, the women finished 4th of seven squads. Marian University won the women's side. Full results can be seen below.Both the men's and the women's teams will next compete in the Graceland Invitational. The men begin on September 14th, while the women begin September 16th.
