Korus Leads Women's Golf at Sand Creek Station

NEWTON, Kan. – The Newman Women's Golf team host the Newman Spring Invitational at Sand Creek Station on Tuesday and Wednesday. The first round would begin in a lightning delay to force the changing of tee times from a traditional start to an 11:30 am shotgun start with the winds howling out of the south all day long. Round two would have significantly less wind and lower temperatures with highs in the mid 40's. The Jets would finish in 9th place as a team. Rogers State take home the team championship. Julia Korus would be Newman's best finisher shooting nine over for the two rounds being tied for 5th place. Southwestern Oklahoma State's Megan Brown would be the tournament's individual champion after shooting a combined three over par for the two rounds.
