Men finish second, women third at Blackthorn

SOUTH BEND, Ind. – The men and women's golf team competed in the Battle at Blackthorn down in South Bend, Indiana. They battled typical spring weather with high winds and chilly temperatures, but solid golf was played on both sides. The men shot a day one 321, finding them in second place as Landon Wanless shot a team best 78 (+6). On the women's side, Kayla Collins broke the women's record low for 18-holes with an 80 (+8) on day one to help CU to a 365. On day two, both teams exceeded their total score from day. Men's golf shot 27 strokes better, shooting a 294 behin Erik Fahlen's 72 (E) to finish in second behind Bethel. They also saw four players finish in the top 10 with Landon Wanless finishing sixth, Luke Theeuwes finishing eighth, and Isaiah Lowe and Erik Fahlen tied for ninth. The women shot six strokes better, 359 behind Kayla Collins 88 (+16) to finish in third for the tournament. Both teams will be back in action on Monday, April 15 as the men will play in the Ackerman-Allen Invitation as the women will play in the Steven Tyler Memorial.
