[Men's Golf] Bearcats Struggle at the John A. Logan Invitational

The Brescia men's golf team competed in the firm and windy conditions of the Kokopelli Golf Club in the John A Logan Invitational. Due to the tough and windy conditions, the Bearcats were not able to make the adjustments to play well on the Kokopelli's tricky course."The guys putted poorly as a team and our ball striking was below average at best compared to our better performances. Put those two things together and the recipe is higher scores than normal," said Head Coach Jason Cox. Parker Brown (SO, Henderson, Ky.) led the Bearcats with a total of 243 for the three rounds. Ryan Howard (SO, Boonville, Ind.) was one behind at 244. Dakota Jones (SO, Center, Ky.) followed at 253,  with Daniel Steele (SR, Bardstown, Ky.) at 256, and Tyler Sharp (FR, Elizabethtown, Ky.) — competing in his first college golf tournament — closing out the Bearcats' peformance with  a 256 and 285, respectively. "The guys have dealt with a lot of adversity in a very short time which is difficult for any team. We have to bounce back from this and grow from it. We have time to prepare and ready ourselves for our next event. Thoughtful practice and preparation will get us in a better place for certain," added Cox.The men's golf team will be back in action on Octiber 7 and 8 in the River States Conference Preview at the Belterra Golf Course in Florence, Indiana.
