[Men's Golf] Hughes posts strong first round; Bears fifth after first day of Blue Raider Invite

The men's golf program at Shawnee State, behind an excellent first day effort from Jordan Hughes, posted a solid showing as a team as the Bears' 16-over 300 put SSU in fifth place following the opening day of the Blue Raider Invitational at The Pines at Lindsey Wilson Golf Course in Columbia, Ky.Hughes, who tied for second overall in the 47-golfer field, was one of just eight golfers to shoot below par in the field with his two-over 69. Hughes sits just one stroke behind Midway (Ky.)'s Hayes Mason and is tied for the best score in the invitational among all Mid-South Conference golfers, with Campbellsville's Jonathan Brewington, Lindsey Wilson's Janik Hawlitzky, and Campbellsville's Austin Mahoney being the only MSC participants to equal Hughes' output.
