MGOLF: Huskies Sit in 3rd Place at SLC Championship

KERRVILLE, Texas – The Huskies kicked off the 2024 Southland Conference Championship with an opening round two-over par, 290, to sit in 3rd place, four-shots back of round one leader, Lamar. The two-over par opening round at Commanche Trace Golf Club is the best round fired in the conference tournament by the Huskies since joining the Southland in 2014. This cleared the previous best first round by eight-shots, 298 at Stondbridge Ranch Country Club in 2015 where HCU claimed 3rd place. The Huskies carded the second most birdies on day one, 17, and finished the opening round three-under par on the par-5s, 4.85 scoring average.
