ARIZONA BOUND FOR RJGA SHOOTOUT

This is CSUSM's sixth time competing in the RJGA Shootout at Estrella, which was previously named the WNMU Intercollegiate prior to 2019-20 season.
The Cougars have been victorious the last three times they have competed in this tournament.
In 2019, CSUSM shot a 17-over 593 to claim the team title from the field of 18 teams.
CSUSM collected the individual medalist honors in both 2019-20 and 2018-19. 2019 NCAA Division II National Champion Jaime Jacob snagged the honor two years ago with Sarah Garcia taking home the honors the previous year.

DELGADO CLAIMS CCAA GOLF OF THE WEEK

Delgado made her collegiate debut at the PLNU Sea Lion Invitational with a two-over par 147 (74-73) to take second place.
This marks the fourth consecutive golfer of the week award for Cal State San Marcos dating back to the 2019-20 season when Jaime Jacob won a conference-best seven times, including the final three of her career.
Delgado was one of three CSUSM student-athletes to earn CCAA's weekly honor the week of Sept. 13.
Women's cross country runner Renee Laurenzana and men's golfer Matthew Moss were the other two to be honored by the conference.

COUGAR OUTLOOK

CSUSM only has two returners from the 2019-20 team.
With the last two seasons combined, six will be wearing Cougar Blue for the first time this year.
Prior to shutting down their season due to the pandemic, the then-No. 12/14 Cougars dominated the field of 14 at the CSUSM Fujikura Invitational with a 38-stroke victory.
CSUSM won five of the six tournaments they competed at in 2019-20.
2019 NCAA Division II National Champion Jaime Jacob was not able to defend her title due to the NCAA cancelling the remaining of the 2020 season.
The Cougars moved up to No. 20 this week in the first regular-season poll after being ranked No. 21 in the 2021-22 WGCA Coaches Preseason Poll.

THE HUTTON FILE

Head coach Greg Hutton has been at the helm of the men's program since the 2010-11 season and was named the women's head coach in 2014.
The CSUSM women's team was the 2019 NCAA Division II National Championship runner-up, led by National Champion Jaime Jacob.
Under Hutton's leadership, the women's team won CSUSM's first CCAA Championship in school history in 2018 and the Cougars defended their title in 2019.
In CSUSM's first year of being a full-fledged member of the NCAA Division II in 2017-18, the Cougar men's and women's golf teams each qualified for the NCAA Regional Championships.
