No. 5 Captains Men's Golf Tied for Fifth After First Round of NCAA DIII Championship Preview

NICHOLASVILLE, Ky. — Earlier this week, the Christopher Newport men's golf program moved up in the Bushnell/Golfweek Division III Coaches Poll, hauling in the No. 5 spot in the national rankings. In the team's first action since the new designation, the Captains started off strong at the NCAA DIII Championship Preview with a sub-300 finish in the opening round on Sunday. The Captains (+11) are currently locked in a three-way tie for fifth and are positioned just eight strokes off the pace after the first 18 holes.
