Okpareke Named Summit League Track Athlete Of The Week

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – In only his second appearance competing under the Kansas City banner, freshman Kenechukwu Okpareke earned recognition as the Summit League Men's Track Peak Performer of the Week. Okpareke set a new school record in the finals with a time of 6.67, breaking a record that had stood for 21 years. This  followed his performance at the Bob Timmons Invitational at Kansas the previous week, where Okpareke finished in 6.85. Notably, he surpassed Ronnie Williams' 2001 record of 6.70 by shaving off a noteworthy 0.03 milliseconds.
