Stellar freshmen have Mustangs in second at season opening Swan Memorial

THORNTON, Colo. — Midwestern State leaned on its three freshmen Monday in the season opening Swan Memorial played at the par-72, 5,997-yard Todd Creek Golf Club.

And the Mustangs might have got more than they were hoping for coming with a second-place team standing heading into the final round of play. MSU fired team totals of 309 and 301 for a 34-over total of 610 through 36 holes.
