Wheaton women's golf team begins play at CCIW Championship

Pewaukee, Wis. — After the first day of the 2022 CCIW Women's Golf Championship, the Thunder squad finds itself in seventh place with a total team score of 367. There is separation between Wheaton and the two surrounding teams in the standings, sixth-placed Carthage (353) and eighth-placed Carroll (381), who is hosting this year's event in Wisconsin. After finishing in the top 25 of last year's championship, Lizzy Stone again led the way for Wheaton on day one this time around, shooting a team-best 78 (+6) to crack the top five of the individual leaderboard.
