Wildcats Under Par to Open Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate

AWENDAW, S.C. – For the second consecutive tournament four Kentucky men's golf starters opened with par or lower. UK is in the middle of the pack through the opening 18 holes of play at the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate as Garrett Wood paced the Cats with a 2-under-par 70 and UK concluded the day at 4-under par and in seventh place overall.
 
South Carolina leads the field at 17-under par and Ole Miss fired an 11-under par score which was good for second. East Tennessee State is in third behind an 8-under score. Kentucky is a mere four shots off being in the top three as the remainder of the field is tightly bunched heading into Monday's second round.
 
The Wildcats will tee off from the No. 1 on Monday beginning at 9 a.m. ET. UK will be paired alongside Wisconsin and Purdue on day two.
