Wind Whips Opening Day of Wildcat Classic

CORNING—As the gusts grew stronger the scores got larger. It was a difficult opening day of the Wildcat Classic at The Links at Rolling Hills Monday. Sustained winds of 20-plus miles per hour, and gusts of more than 40, sent many scores soaring and forced the cancellation of Monday's scheduled second round. The teams will now play a 36-hole event with the final round beginning Tuesday at 8 a.m. when the north wind is forecasted to blow slightly less forcefully.
