Women’s Golf Finishes Ninth Place at Husky Invitational

DANVILLE – The East Stroudsburg University women's golf team finished ninth place at Bloomsburg's Husky Invitational on Thursday afternoon from The Golf Course at Frost Valley.

Abby Beyer Young guided the Warriors as the sophomore took 26th out of 54 golfers after firing a 94 (+21) on the par 73, 5,984-yard course. Beyer recorded a par on holes No. 2, 4, 11, 12 and 18.

Junior Samantha Young finished in a tie for 33rd after carding a 98 (+25), which featured five pars, including four on the back nine. Fellow classmate Morgyn Wiley tied for 42nd with a round of 108 (+35) after birding the par-5 13th hole, while junior Ellie Parido came in 51st with a 155 (+82).  

Alvernia edged out West Chester for the team title by three stokes as the Wolves were led by Rylee Stenzel (79), who earned individual medalist honors, and Katie Lapinsky (80), who finished as the runner-up.
