[Women's Golf] Salyers wins Point Invitational, Tigers finish third

It has been a winding road for Georgetown College women's golf senior Baylee Salyers. She broke out as one of the team leaders in her freshman season and the first two years was knocking at the door for postseason accolades. A wrist injury slowed her some over the course of the end of her sophomore season to her junior year. However, she broke through with a Mid-South Conference Golfer of the Week honor and followed that with an all-conference accolade in her junior season. Now to start her senior season, the Flatwoods, Ky. native is laying it all on the line."One of my goals coming in to college golf was to win a tournament as an individual, doing that but also putting my name in the Georgetown College record books is the best feeling in the world," Salyers said.In the fall season opener, she posted a Tiger program best 71, one-under par and led the tournament. She finished it off Sunday, going three-over par, a two-day tournament best of 146 winning top honors and setting a new mark for Georgetown. All this while leading the team to a third-place finish just 30 strokes out of first.
