[Women's Golf] Tigers claim top spot in home tournament

Georgetown College women's golf gave Marlene Schulte her first win as head coach in the only home event of the year. The Tigers charged ahead of the field, which consisted of an NCAA Division I program as well as a current Mid-South Conference opponent and a future one.It was a two-team race between Bellarmine and Georgetown Tuesday, leading Thomas More University and Martin Methodist by more than 40 strokes.Bellarmine made a charge, but the solid group play was enough to hang on and win by four strokes, 650 to 654. Baylee Salyers led the home team, finishing second overall, while two other teammates Jordan Frodge and Bekah Upchurch also scored in the top five to earn all-tournament team.
