[Women's Golf] Two Tigers finish all-tournament as GC takes second

Georgetown College women's golf Baylee Salyers and Mary Catherine Borders finished in the top five at the Shawnee State University Invitational. This strong finished helped the Tigers take second in the two-day event in Portsmouth, Ohio.Salyers followed up her strong top 10 finish at the end of September with a second place, all-tournament team result Saturday and Sunday. The junior started with a 78 in a tie for first with University of Pikeville's Alexis Stambaugh. Each female had a tough day two, but Salyers was able to maintain and finish in second behind another Bear – Boo Newsome.Borders had her second best score of the fall season, tallying her best finish of the season. The senior shot a 164, she started the year with a 163 in Georgia, for an all-tournament team fifth place finish. She averaged an 82 for the weekend – well within her coach Marlena Schulte's challenge.
