[Women's Golf] Women's Golf Finishes in 6th at NAIA-AAC Qualifier

TEGA CAY, S.C.- The St. Andrews University women's golf team finished in 6th place out of 12 teams at the NAIA-AAC Direct Qualifier that was played at Tega Cay CC in S.C. on Tuesday.Round one was postponed Monday due to rain and they finished up Tuesday morning. A nine-hole round two was then played later Tuesday. Milligan College and SCAD-Atlanta were tied for first in the team standings at 323 after the first round before SCAD's 161 second round won them the title by 3 strokes. However, both teams will qualify for Nationals.SAU shot a 352 in round one and a 172 in round two to tie them with 5th place TWU for the 6th best round two score as the Knights finished 10 strokes back of TW overall and 1 strokes ahead of 7th place Bryan.Junior Lydia Randell (JR/Walnut Cove, NC)  led the Lady Knights after her first round 82 and her second round 40 for a score of 122 to place 8th overall, just one stroke back of a tie for 6th. Most of the scores were very high on day one as well. Winning the title was Rachita Vasandani of SCAD-Atlanta with her rounds of 74 and 36 for a 110.Junior Devon Omar (JR/Grovetown, GA) then finished 2nd on the Knights and 22nd overall with her first round score of 83 and second round of 46 which dropped her back some on the leaderboard, but she still finished with a quality 129 score.Senior Olivia Pruitt (SR/Duncan, OK) then placed 34th overall and third on the Knights with her impressive 41 in round two. but she struggled to a 95 in round one for a 136. Fellow Senior Isabelle Sullivan (SR/Fremont, NH) then was 4th on the Knights and 37th overall with her scores of 92 on day one and 47 yesterday for a 139.Freshman Hayley Reed (FR/Concord, NH) then wrapped up the scoring as she tallied a 99 in round one, but had the 3rd best score for SAU in round two with a 45 to place 43rd overall out of 58 golfers with a 144.Unfortunately, no Lady Knights will qualify for the National Tournament this season while Randell just missed the cut of making the all-tournament team as well.
