[Women's Golf] Women's Golf ties for 10th at AAC Spring Invite

LOUDON, Tenn. – The St. Andrews University Women's Golf team placed 10th overall out of 13 teams at the AAC Spring Invitational on Monday and Tuesday at the Tennessee National Golf club hosted by Tennessee Wesleyan Univ.SAU shot a 352 in the first round Monday on the tough course while firing a 355 on day two to finish with a 707. SAU finished ahead of conference foes Montreat, Reinhardt and Bryan while 10 AAC teams competed in the tourney with 3 other non-conference teams competing as well. NW Ohio won the event with a 646 score with SCAD-Atlanta becoming the highest AAC finisher in third place.The women were led by an 11th place finish from junior Lydia Randell (JR/Walnut Cove, NC). She paced the Lady Knights with rounds of 84 and 77 as she improved by seven strokes on day two and finished with a 161. She was the only woman to shoot in the 70s all week while Bryan's Krista Reinhardt won the event with a 147 (75-72).Junior Devon Omar (JR/Grovetown, GA) then was 2nd on the Knights as she finished in a tie for 34th place with a 172. Omar shot a respectable 84 in round one, but fell to an 88 in round two. Senor Olivia Pruitt (SR/Duncan, OK) was then third on the Knights and 39th overall with rounds of 85 and 89 for a 174.Freshman Hayley Reed (FR/Concord, NH) then shot rounds of 99 and 101 to place 67th while senior Isabelle Sullivan (SR/Fremont, NH) wrapped up the scoring for SAU as she placed 68th with rounds of 99 and 104.The SAU women are next in action on April 23-24 as they will be competing in the NAIA-AAC Direct Qualifier at the Tega Cay GC in S.C.
