265 ESU Student-Athletes Receive PSAC Scholar-Athlete Recognition

LOCK HAVEN – The Pennsylvania State Athletic Conference (PSAC) unveiled on Wednesday that 265 East Stroudsburg University student-athletes have earned Scholar-Athlete status.

In order to be eligible, the 2022-23 student-athletes must compete in a PSAC Championship sport and maintain a cumulative GPA of at least 3.25 upon completion of the academic year.

This year marks the seventh consecutive that the Warriors have posted at least 200-plus PSAC Scholar Athletes with 221 in 2016-17, 213 in 2017-18, 227 in 2018-19 and 267 in 2019-20, 293 in 2020-21 and 280 last year.

ESU was one of 12 institutions to register at least 200 scholar-athletes, ranking tied for fourth with Bloomsburg among the 18 universities in total scholar athletes.

With 3,794 student-athletes eligible, it marked 52% of the PSAC student-athlete population. The PSAC has now registered at least a 30% rate for 15 consecutive years.
