ESU Athletics Holds Senior Recognition Dinner

The East Stroudsburg University Athletic Department honored 98 senior student-athletes at its annual Senior Recognition Dinner on Tuesday evening inside the ESU Innovation Center.

After a buffet style dinner, awards were given to ESU Distinguished Scholars Claire Courter (Exercise Science, Women's Basketball) Jessica Irwin (Exercise Science, Volleyball) and Sean Roberts (Criminal Justice, Track & Field). All three of these Warriors have posted a 4.0 GPA through at least 60 credits and plan to graduate from ESU this May.

The ESU men's track and field team, along with the Warriors' women's basketball team received the Team Academic Achievement Awards, for posting the highest GPA among ESU athletic teams.

The Dave Carlyon Athletic Training Award was presented by ESU Associate Professor of Athletic Training and Department Chair, Dr. Gerard Rozea. The award was given to ESU senior athletic training major Jacob Kraemer.

All seniors were then recognized and awarded a senior plaque for their time in the Poconos.

ESU's prestigious Winning Warrior Award was the last award of the evening, given to ESU Assistant Registrar/Compliance and Enrollment Specialist Katey Cardone for her unwavering support of and dedicated service to student-athletes and the ESU Athletic Department. Cardone oversees athletic-aid agreements and processes all necessary paperwork.
