Men's Golf finishes in 5th at the WHAC Fall Preview

AUGUSTA, Mich. – The WHAC Fall Preview is always a fun two-day event. The first day is always the longest as the first round is an 18-hole stroke play where the Golden Eagles struggled a little finishing in fifth place shooting a 302, one stroke behind fourth place team Lourdes. Landon Wanless led the way shooting a 68 (-3) for the stroke play finishing tied for first. The next two rounds of the preview were a stroke play match. With Cornerstone finishing fifth, that is the best they could finish for the tournament as the teams are grouped by fours for the match play style the next two rounds, needing just one stroke for a chance to finish in first. Cornerstone took down UM-Dearborn in the first round of the stroke play match 3.5 to 1.5 for a chance to either finish in 5th or 6th as they take on Indiana Tech on day two. Cornerstone would take down Indiana Tech at the wire as they won 3-2 with Luke Theeuwes's match as the difference maker in the victory. The Golden Eagles would finish in 5th at the WHAC fall preview, knowing they could have finished in the top four groups. Quick break for the Golden Eagles as they will be in South Bend this weekend for the Battle at Blackthorn.
