[Women's Golf] Women's Golf Closes Season; Bull Sets Record

Doane Women's Golf closed out the 2020-21 season on Saturday with the final round of the GPAC Championships at Bent Tree GC in Council Bluffs, Iowa. On Friday, Doane posted a team score of 366 and followed it up with a 359 on Saturday. Doane finished 9th overall with a 1,503 team total, the fourth-best score for a 72-hole meet in program history.Leading the charge for the Tigers were Kathryn Finke (FR/Springfield, Mo.) and Tressa Bull (JR/Burke, S.D.). Finke finished in a tie for 16th overall with a 354. She recorded a season-best round of 84 on Friday, tied for 17th on the day. Bull finished 18th overall with a 357. She notched a school-record round of 77 on Saturday, tying for low-round on the day. Bull finished the season with a team-best average of 87.14, second-best in program history.Anna Korte (JR/Grand Island, Neb.) placed 46th in the championships with a 421. She posted rounds of 101 and 100 over the past two days. Doane had three golfers play in all four rounds to qualify for placing in the tournament.Also competing in the final two rounds were Payton Zarkowski (SR/Benkelman, Neb.) and Christine Rost (SR/Hamburg, Iowa). Zarkowski posted rounds of 90 and 92 while Rost shot two rounds of 111 as both players closed out their Doane playing careers.Morningside was the team champion with a score of 1,247 over the four rounds. They recorded the low team score in each of the four rounds of play and won the tournament by 131 strokes. Sam Knight was the individual medalist, shooting a 305 (76-79-73-77) to win by four strokes over a teammate.
