[Men's Golf] Alemany earns second consecutive KCAC Men's Golfer of the Week award

WICHITA, Kan. – The day just keeps getting better for Friends University sophomore Gerardo Alemany, who receives his second straight KCAC Men's Golfer of the Week honor, the league office announced today (Apr. 17). Earlier this morning, Alemany earned All-KCAC first-team recognition. The KCAC Athlete of the Week honors are presented by Equity Bank.A native of Valencia, Venezuela, Alemany shot a 72-74-146 to spark the Falcons to a top-three finish at this past week's Midwest Spring National Invite in Manhattan, Kan.Alemany finished second individually out of a competitive field of 74 golfers.To earn last week's nod, Alemany produced a second-round score of 70 that tied for the best total of the second day to help the Falcons finish third as a team at the Prairie Dunes Collegiate (Apr. 3-4).Alemany and the Falcons are currently competing at the KCAC Championships, set for today through Wednesday (Apr. 19) at the Buffalo Dunes Golf Course in Garden City, Kan.  As of this writing, the Falcons were off to a blazing start and were 11 under par as a team to lead by eight strokes early in the second round.
