[Men's Golf] Alemany, Sutherland earn All-KCAC Men's Golf nod

WICHITA, Kan. – Friends University sophomores Gerardo Alemany (SO/Valencia, Venezuela) and Trent Sutherland have been selected as All-KCAC Men's Golf performers, the league office announced today (Apr. 17). Alemany is a first-team pick, while Sutherland earned second-team recognition."I'm very happy for Gerardo and Trent," said Friends University Director of Golf and men's golf head coach Dustin Galyon. "Both guys are incredibly deserving of these awards."Alemany is coming off earning KCAC Men's Golfer of the Week after producing a second-round score of 70 that tied for the best total of the second day to help the Falcons finish third as a team at the Prairie Dunes Collegiate (Apr. 3-4).In his most recent performance, Alemany (72-74-146) finished as the runner-up individually to spark the Falcons to a third overall showing at the Midwest Spring National Invite (Apr. 10-11) in Manhattan, Kan.Alemany also recorded his career-best three-round score during the fall season at the Central Plains Invitational in Salina, Kan. (Sept. 26-27) by finishing seven under par (70-63-70) for a third-place overall result.  After winning the KCAC individual title last year and qualifying for the NAIA National Championship round, Sutherland picked up where he left off by coming out on top in the first tournament of the fall campaign with a -2 (69) showing in the Falcons' victory at the Crestview Classic.Along with Alemany, Sutherland finished tied for second overall with a score of 71-69-76-216 to power the Falcons to a victory in the Crestview Fall Invitational (Sept. 19-20).Sutherland's best performance of the spring campaign happened at the Prairie Dunes Collegiate, where he wound up tied for 12th overall (71-74-145).The duo of Alemany and Sutherland are currently helping the Falcons compete at the KCAC Championships, set for today through Wednesday (Apr. 19) at the Buffalo Dunes Golf Course in Garden City, Kan.
