[Men's Golf] Alemany sparks Men's Golf Falcons to top-three finish at Prairie Dunes Collegiate

Hutchinson, Kan. – Friends University sophomore Gerardo Alemany led the Friends University Falcons to a third-place showing this week at the Prairie Dunes Collegiate in Hutchinson, Kan."The Prairie Dunes tournament was fantastic, to compete on one of the top golf courses in the world was an amazing experience," said Dustin Galyon, Friends University Director of Golf and men's golf head coach. "I am proud of our guys for continuing to take a step forward and play for each other this week. We are starting to really enjoy competing together and for each other! Each of our guys had a solid round over the two-day tourney."Alemany was the top KCAC finisher and came in tied for eighth overall with a two-day score of 73-70-143."Gerardo had an excellent second day and finishing tied for eighth was a fantastic showing," said Galyon. "His focus and execution was really good the second day!"The Falcons (293-297-590) surged three spots up the leaderboard on the final day to come within four strokes of runner-up MidAmerica Nazarene University (282-304-586). Indian Hills CC won the tournament with a final tally of 272-288-560.For Friends, Trenton Sutherland (71-74-145) put together a solid performance to finish tied for 12th overall.Trinton Nobles (T-34, 77-75-152), Braulio Graino (T-38, 75-78-153) and Louis Louchet (T-46, 74-81-155) rounded out the Falcon top five.Harrison Middleton also competed as an individual for the Falcons and came in tied for 24th with a score of 77-73-150."Trent was really committed to the process and Harrison showed great growth on day two with a round of 73!" noted Galyon. "So again, a lot of positives as we continue to take steps forward and play for each other."In their final competition before the KCAC Conference Championships, the Falcons will compete in the Midwest Spring National Invitational next week (Apr. 10-11) at the Colbert Hills Golf Course in Manhattan, Kan.
