[Men's Golf] Alferman Claims Individual Title at Friends Invite

WICHITA, Kan. – For already the third time this season, the revived Friends University men's golf program has an individual champion, as Tommy Alferman (FR/Wichita, Kan. ) came out on top at the Friends Invite this week at the Crestview Country Club in Wichita.Facing winds gusting well over 30 mph, Alferman recorded a two-day total of 71-70-71 to capture the first-place finish for the Falcons."Tommy's play was outstanding, he is very capable of going low at any time," said Dustin Galyon, Friends University men's golf coach and Director of Golf."He did a great job of controlling the golf ball in really tough conditions. He hit a lot of fairways on a crazy windy day and kept giving himself opportunities on incredibly difficult greens. Any time you can shoot four under on Crestview North you are playing big time golf! I am really proud of Tommy's mental toughness over the past two days of play!!"The Falcons have wrapped up fall play and will now turn their attention to the upcoming spring season.
