[Women's Golf] The Tabor Women's Golf Team Battled Through the Rain and Cold in the First Leg …

Broken Arrow, Okla. -The Bluejay Women's golf team travelled to Battle Creek Golf Club near Tulsa, OK to play in the first of two legs of the 2021 KCAC Conference Championship.  The weather stole the headlines in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, as day one the team was challenged by cold temperatures, rain, and wind. Day two proved to continue with the same miserable conditions plus standing water on most holes and bunkers that were filled with water.  Kansas Wesleyan won the first leg of the two part championship with a 23 shot lead over the second place team of Bethany. The final leg of the championship will be held in Garden City at Buffalo Dunes next month.  The scores will carry over and the Kansas Wesleyan team will look to keep their lead. For the Bluejays, Valdisa Andov (FR/Pekanbaru, Indonesia), who is rated in the top five in the KCAC according to Golfstat struggled a little with the weather to finish 9th out of 42 players. "Disa" persisted and stayed strong to battle the elements during the two day tournament and steadily rose higher in the standings on day two. It's especially difficult for Disa as she's certainly not used to the conditions and weather in the Midwest. Disa is from Indonesia and the wind and cold weather is a new challenge for her golf game. "I was so proud of Disa as she battled through the difficult conditions during the championship and she is in a good position to make a run at the leaders next month at Buffalo Dunes" said coach Ens. WHATS NEXT- The Women travel to Winfield Kansas next Monday and Tuesday to play in the Southwestern invite at Quail Ridge golf Club.
