[Women's Golf] The Young Bluejay Women's golf team gain valuable experience at the KCAC Match …

Dodge City, Kan. – The Women's golf team travelled to Dodge City Kansas for the annual Match play Championships Monday and Tuesday. The Bluejays came into the event as the 9th seed and finished in 9th place while Kansas Wesleyan walked away the winning team.  The Women again had to play short handed but gained valuable experience in a match play format.   Playing for the Bluejays were Lauryn Paredez (FR/Cutler, Calif.), Gracie Trogdon (FR/Lawton, Okla.) and Megan Brock (FR/Poolville, Texas).  For the Match play Championship two teams play each other at a time with one player from a team playing matches up against a player from another team. The players play an 18 hole match with the winner gaining a point for their team. The first team to 3 points wins the match and moves on in the bracket format. The Women's team learned a lot while Megan Brock received praise from an official saying "Megan and her playing partner played with great sportsmanship" representing Tabor College well. Megan Brock also "showed improvement with her putting" said coach Ens. The coach spent a lot of time with the Bluejays during both rounds and had a lot of positives to say. Lauryn Paredez played well at times winning a few holes in her matches but couldn't quite pull out a win for the Bluejays.  Playing number 1 for the bluejays proved to be a tough matchup against both Ottawa and York. Gracie Trogdon who played number two got matched up against the 1 and 2 from Ottawa and York and the senior golfers proved too much for Gracie who is still a freshman. "Gracie hit the ball really well off the tee" said coach Ens, however, the players she was matched up with didn't make many mistakes which was very hard to win the match. WHATS NEXT- The Bluejay Women stay home and will be playing at the 2020 Tabor Fall Invitational on October 12 and 13.
