[Women's Golf] Valdisa and Madison play well in Women's fall season finale

Newton, Kan.- The Tabor Women's team hosted their home event at Sand Creek Station October 11 and 12. Kansas Wesleyan were the winners of the event for the second year in a row. The Bluejays who finished in 8th place had some bright spots with Madison Guerra (FR/Dinuba, Calif.) posting a personal best of 91 and Valdisa Andov (SO/Pekanbaru, Indonesia) (77,81) having her best finish of the year in Second place out of 36 players.        Day 1 had wet conditions from the previous days rain, however, the conditions were good for scoring low.  Valdisa took advantage of that shooting a 77 on day 1 putting her in third after the first day and just 4 shots off the lead. Day 2 the winds picked up making it harder for the field to score well. Disa improved from 3rd to 2nd with her 81 but not enough to catch the leader. After the tournament Valdisa had this to say about her round. "I just wanted to go out there and have fun and enjoy the course. If I played well, then great, if I didn't then at least I had fun." Valdisa had her revenge on hole 2 by making birdie both rounds she played. "I wanted to improve on the second hole because last time I played Sand Creek I had an 8 and a 9 that hurt my chances of winning" said Valdisa.     Madison Guerra had a career day for round 2 with her 91. "We spent a lot of time on the range this past week working on big swing changes which we normally don't do" said coach Jamieson. "We normally save bigger swing changes until the beginning of Spring but with Maddie we wanted to get a head start and it paid off." Maddie added "I didn't like the way the ball looked off the tee but I like the results, in particular the score."      Gracie Trogdon (SO/Lawton, Okla.) and Megan Brock (SO/Poolville, Texas) also played for the Bluejays rounding out the lineup.WHATSNEXT- the Bluejay Women will start their offseason next week. Their Spring season will pick back up in February.
